Lawmakers summoned energy executives to Capitol Hill

As oil hit a new record of $135 a barrel yesterday, lawmakers summoned energy executives to Capitol Hill for the latest in a series of ritual immolation.

The discussion was mainly how much money each company had made. The conclusion by the energy executives of the larges oil cooperation Exxon Mobil, Shell, BP, Chevron and Philips was that the best way to decrease the prize of oil is to increase production. Yes, increase production! ( in other words to increase profit)

The energy executives suggested that it would be best starting to drill for oil in American’s last untouched National Wildlife Refuge! This proposal was already made earlier this year by the biggest fans of the oil cooperation , President J.W. Bush and his Vice-President Cheney, both receivers of billions from the oil cooperation through lobbyists.

Instead of investing in renewable energy such as hydrogen fuel, Washington (and with this the US Government) is only concerned about how to please their voters in an election year.

Let’s look for short-term-solutions and keep doing what we have been doing. Let’s help to boost the profit of the wealthiest even more and hope no one will notice! Let's distract Americans more with these election themes like Rev. Write and Rev. John Hagee.

Don’t worry about our environment! The larges oil cooperation will take care of it, as seen in the largest oil spills of last century like the Exxon Valdis (on March 23, 1989 at Prince William Sound in Alaska), Erika, Prestige! The sinking of these tankers irreversibly changed regional ecosystems and the corresponding damage was estimated at billions of dollars.

Let's stand up to these oil cooperation and stop increasing our thirst for oil!

Let's demand from our representatives to act and start an environmental friendly program today.

Don't wait another day!
