US sees hottest year on record

Scorching weather follows a year of droughts, cyclones and wildfires, with scientists blaming global warming. 

 

 The hottest year yet - that is what scientists are saying about the US in 2012 after 12 months of droughts, cyclones and wildfires. And these are not just isolated cases.

Many climate scientists say extreme weather leading to disasters is a fact of our modern world, and global warming is to blame.
