Despite a lack of support from Republicans

The House and Senate reached an agreement on a $789 billion economic-stimulus plan, which President Barack Obama has signed into law despite a lack of support from Republicans.

Why the lack of support from Republicans? Well, it is obvious that the Republicans continue to believe that their failed strategy and philosophy of the last 8 years have moved the world forward. However, we are seeing the result of the eight years of Republican government when looking at the world economical crisis. We see now where the philosophy of no government involvement has led us. We see now where letting corporations rule the world has led us. We see now what greed and corruption has done to our economy as well as ecology.

Nonetheless, Republicans are still unwilling the see what the rest of the world is seeing and are continuing to hold on to the old, outdated, conservative philosophies: Take from the workers/middle-class and give it to the rich.

In my opinion, this mentality is not only at the root of the current economic crisis but also the cause of terrorism and violence around the world. As long as we fail to step up our efforts to eliminate inequality and poverty, there will be no peace and security in this world. On the contrary, if we don’t step up our efforts to eliminate inequality and poverty in this world, violence will increase to a level we can't even imagine yet. Just think, what do poor people have to loose if the join radical organizations, in a world run by greedy, wealthy and corrupted people?

The only solution to this crisis is to root out the existing inequality and poverty around the world and to restore true honesty, tolerance and compassion!

Although the passing of this $789 billion economic-stimulus plan may not be the golden bullet that brings us out of this economic crisis. It may however be the first step in tackling some of these problems.
