I question the neutrality and interests of the United States Supreme Court

Is our world ruled by all people or only by the few who have money and therefore unlimited power?
This question came to mind this week, as I found out that the United States Supreme Court had handed down a huge victory to these powerful corporation and their special interests lobbyists.

Now companies like Exxon Mobil Corporation, with its more than US$ 477.35 billion in revenue, will be able to pay for their candidate in the next election, dwarfing those who fight for us the common people. I agree with President Barack Obama who called this ruling a strike at our democracy.

Moreover, this ruling shows how decision reached by this court was influenced by the personal philosophy of individual judges. Consequently, by injected their decisions into the political arena, the court failed to protect individual rights and strengthened the power of wealthy corporation, friends of the Republican Party.
It was already the second time in recent history this has happened. The last time, it was the dubious ruling in the Bush v. Gore decision, in which the Supreme Court intervened in the 2000 presidential election and effectively chosing George W. Bush over Albert Gore.

Therefore, I question the neutrality and interests of the United States Supreme Court. These decisions have favored clearly the dogma of the Republican Party rather than the people of the United States of America.
Now, we have to wonder how long we will have a true Democracy in our country.
