Rep. Todd Akin's Comments on Abortion

Although many Republicans are trying to distance themselves from Rep. Todd Akin's comments about rape appears in fact to express the overall theme of the Republican Party during this 2012 election. It is actually  scary to think that one day the government (under a Republican President) would  punish the victim of rape for being raped and who has become  pregnant.  Rep. Todd Akin appears not to understand the definition of rape, which says that  rape is the crime of forcing another person to submit to sex acts, especially sexual intercourse.
In some countries in which abortion for rape and incest is illegal, over 90% of pregnancies in children under 14–15 are due to rape by family members.
Think about the social as well as psychological  implication for children who were born due to rape. Research shows that fear and anxiety, depression, poor self-esteem, social adjustment issues, and sexual dysfunctions are most often seen.
